South Perth dentists Drs Simon Shanahan, Milly Shanahan and Lee Jasson have over 70 years of combined experience. It’s no wonder Southbridge Dental was the first practice in WA to receive QIP accreditation from the Australian Dental Association (ADA). Dr Simon Shanahan (Dentist)

Simon grew up in the City of South Perth, living in Salter Point and attending Aquinas College. He and Milly love raising their two sons in South Perth, the boys are both happy students at Wesley College. After graduating from UWA Dental School in 1985, Simon opened Southbridge Dental in 1993 with a mission to provide comprehensive quality oral care to the local community.

As a highly respected and trustworthy dentist, Simon is heavily involved in organisations that regulate the dental profession across the country. In 2016, Simon also served as president of the Dental Study Group of WA, the oldest study group in the region.

Simon has been honoured with Fellowships in the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI), the International College of Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Simon is currently Regent of the ADI Australasian Section. Simon also studied English Literature at Curtin University obtaining first class honours in 2002.

In 1998, Simon and his friend Paul Clarke co-founded Equal Health. He is Immediate Past Chairman and currently the Team Leader for Equal Health – East Timor Project. Simon also volunteers with the Kimberly Dental Team both in the remote regions of the Kimberly district and with its southern branch, KDT Southern helping the underprivileged in suburban Perth.

Dr Millicent Woon (Dentist)

Millicent “Milly” Woon has been passionately working as a dentist for over twenty years. Drawn to the profession by her desire to help people, Milly finds the job to be really rewarding when she can transform somebody’s smile or relieve their pain. Millyhas a particular enthusiasm for aesthetic dentistry. She is able to perform tooth whitening, and employ other soft tissue modalities, such as Botox and dermal fillers, to assist with overall cosmetic results.

Milly has been a member of the Dental Study Group of Western Australia since 1999. Milly served on the committee for many years and as President in 2006. The “DSG” is the oldest group in WA, it was established in 1954.

Milly was honoured to receive her Fellowship in the International College of Dentistry in 2016. She was also appointed a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International in 2002.

Milly loves to give back and has volunteered for cooking projects with organisations including Ronald McDonald House and Manna House. She also volunteers as a dentist with the Kimberley Dental Team in remote indigenous communities and for Equal Health abroad.

Milly is married to Simon and loves spending time with their two sons. She is also passionate about cooking, especially traditional Asian cuisine. She is also an avid reader, walks to keep fit and loves racquet sports.

Dr Lee Jasson (Dentist)

Inspired to start her career after doing work experience with a country town dentist in her teens, Lee has been providing caring, patient focussed dental care to Western Australian families since 1994.

Lee loves having the opportunity to meet and help people through her work. Outside of the practice, you’ll find Lee volunteering with school and sporting clubs in the community and keeping fit and active.

Dr Louise Winters (Dentist)

Louise graduated from the University of Western Australia with honours in 2011. She has worked in private practice in both South Perth and Fremantle since graduation and in 2019 and 2020 returned to UWA to teach and examine the next generation of dentists. Born and bred in Perth, Louise lives in Como with her husband Josh and rescue greyhound Harvey. She has a love of travel, cooking, and is horse-mad. Riding and competing horses since the age of seven.

Louise is passionate about providing the best patient care possible with a particular focus on prevention and the improvement of oral health. She is also passionate about continued learning, frequently attending post-graduate education courses and meetings. Her professional memberships include the Australian Dental Association, The International Team for Implantology, The Dental Study Group of Western Australia and The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. She is also an official mentor for membership candidates of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
